APPLICATION
Solution for use a teat dip, teat spray, udder wash and milking machine cluster dip as part of a dairy routine for controlling bovine mastitis. DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
As a Teat Dip: Prepare a fresh solution of 1 part TEATSAN with 2 parts water to
give 5000ppm available Iodine. Fill teat dipping cup about 2/3 full with this solution
and dip the teats immediately after each cow is milked. Top up the cups with fresh
solution as required. Teat dip cups should be emptied and washed after milking.
For Teat Spraying: Spraying is more hygienic than dipping as it avoids the risk of cross contamination between dairy cows.
Prepare a fresh solution of 1 part TEATSAN with 3 parts water. Immediately after milking, spray the entire surface of each teat with the solution.
Udder Washing and Cluster Dipping: Use 1 part TEATSAN to 375 parts water (15 ml in 10 litres or 1fl.oz in 2.5 gallons), to give 40ppm available Iodine. Teat Clusters should be immersed and agitated for at least 30 seconds before milking each cow.
Udder cloths should be allowed to soak in solution. The use of separate udder cloths or disposable paper towels is strongly recommended.
BACTERICIDAL PERFORMANCE
TEATSAN passes EN 1656 Quantitative Suspension Test for the Evaluation of Bactericidal Activity of Chemical Disinfectants and Antiseptics used in the Veterinary and Agricultural Field. Specific test conditions to simulate in-use testing in the dairy Industry and specifically for use as Teat disinfectants are laid down.
